Graças ao último Monday Metal resolvi cantar minhas dores de cotovelo imaginárias, encher o cabelo de laquê e transformar a coluna em Monday Hard Rock um pouquinho, porque vocês merecem essa diversidade. E vamos começar a fazer isso hoje.

A música que escolhi é daquelas que por acaso passam pelos meus ouvidos, e que eu agradeço infinitamente aos céus: Eyes of Love. Já se vão alguns anos desde que assisti o video oficial, video meio tosco por sinal, mas que me diverte muito, afinal até nisso hard rock e heavy metal se combinam. Cantada por Jeff Scott Soto, Eyes of Love tem a clássica alma sing-along, que te faz cantar o refrão desde o primeiro momento que você o escuta.

E quem diabos é Jeff Scott Soto? É um americano de descendência porto riquenha (!) que de vez em sempre faz shows no Brasil, vide esse ano, que ele desembarcou aqui com a turnê Damage Control. Originalmente vocalista da banda de hard rock Talisman -que terminou em 2007- ele assumiu o posto de vocalista de Yngwie Malmsteen nos dois primeiros álbuns, e também foi o substituto de Steve Augeri nas turnês de 2006/2007, quando vocalista do Journey contraiu uma grave infecção na garganta.

Nitidamente inspirado em Freddie Mercury, Jeff e eu fomos apresentados através de Eyes of Love. Gostei tanto que fui pesquisar pra saber quem era o cidadão cantando no video, de qual disco era a música, e terminei pedindo o download do Prism (2002) aqui, quando o blog ainda era voltado apenas de downloads. O responsável por atender o meu pedido foi o Wakashimazu (!!)

Então, depois de tantas coincidências que me fizeram lembrar dessa música já perdida na memória, espero que vocês gostem. Afinal, dizem que eu tenho a fama de não dar dicas musicais furadas, e essa é uma fama trabalhosa de manter.
