O Monday Metal chega com o arroz de festa do Rock in Rio. Com a edição 2015 o Metallica chegou a  oito participações sendo a terceira consecutiva. Nos dois últimos Rock in Rio no Brasil, James Hetfield saiu dizendo que foi o melhor show da banda. É por essas e outras, que o Mustaine fica na mesa de som garantindo um ótimo show da banda.

O Metallica surgiu em 1981 e de lá para cá, diversos integrantes passaram pela banda. Em 1983 aconteceu o fato que persegue a banda e coloca os fãs para brigarem até hoje. Quando estavam para gravar o álbum Kill 'em All, Dave Mustaine foi expulso da banda antes de gravar o álbum foi creditado em algumas das letras, mas este afirmou que havia dito à banda para não utilizarem as músicas que ele havia escrito, Hetfield e Ulrich contestam tal afirmação. Mustaine também reivindica os solos das músicas em que tocava junto à banda. Kirk Hammett nega o fato até hoje.
