Ninguém pode negar o poder que uma boa música tem de traduzir os nossos sentimentos. O heavy metal em especial parece ter esse poder dobrado, colocando o dedo na ferida de sentimentos delicados e tornando-se facilmente o gênero musical visceral de todos.

O Monday Metal de hoje é sobre isso. "When All Is Lost" é uma das faixas de "Iconoclast", ótimo oitavo álbum de estúdio lançado pelo Symphony X em 2011, cujo tema central é definido pelo vocalista Russell Allen por a ideia das máquinas tomando conta de tudo, e toda essa tecnologia na qual colocamos a nossa sociedade praticamente sendo a nossa morte.

A música em si é dramática, intensa, pois Russell Allen emociona até cantando Parabéns pra você, tendo todas as nuances progressivas características da banda, além de trazer uma mensagem realmente importante, abordada sob um ponto de vista (justificadamente) fatalista.

Mas não se assustem. Apesar de toda carga emocional que a música possui, ela é ótima pra se ouvir e lavar a alma, sem trocadilho. Aproveitem pra curtir o som nesse live de 2011 na Holanda.
